TWICE BITTEN -REVIEW

Twice Bitten (Chicagoland Vampires, #3)Title : Twice Bitten
Author: Chloe Neill
Series: Chicargoland Vampires
Date Published: July 6th 2010

Description: Merit, Chicago’s newest vampire, is learning how to play well with others. Other supernaturals, that is. Shapeshifters from across the country are convening in the Windy City, and as a gesture of peace, Master Vampire Ethan Sullivan has offered their leader a very special bodyguard: Merit. Merit is supposed to protect the Alpha, Gabriel Keene—and to spy for the vamps while she’s at it. Oh, and luckily Ethan’s offering some steamy, one-on-one combat training sessions to help her prepare for the mission.

Merit must accept the assignment, even though she knows that she’ll probably regret it. And she’s not wrong. Someone is gunning for Gabriel Keene, and Merit soon finds herself in the line of fire. She’ll need all the help she can get to track down the would-be assassin, but everywhere she turns, there are rising tensions between supernaturals—not least between her and a certain green-eyed, centuries old master vampire.

Review:

Well I was right not to give up on this series. this booked topped the last one no problem. And it has me so desperately wanting to start the next one. I love it when you find a series that you cant put down and you read from start to finish.

In this book we see Merit and Ethan working along side Shifters, the times are changing and some have prophesied  that a war is coming. A war between supernaturals and human kind. just like the old times of the clearing. Ethan hopes that working with the shifters will help them decide to stand and fight this time instead of walking away and letting the vamps get on with it.

Woop woop, things well and truly heat up between Ethan and Merit and we get to see what things between them would be like if the master Vampire was able to loosen up and accept what it. but sadly things don't go to plan and Ethan pushes Merit away  as he cant find a happy medium between being the man she wants and the  master of the house. He cant see that them being together might be a good thing for the house an not the distraction he thinks it will be.  The way things end up between Ethan and Merit really frustrate me because Im so desperate for them to get together and sort things out but it was so well written and let your toes curling with the chemistry  that was running through them.

I have to say I LOVED this book. again really well written and Im going to be truthful and say I didn't put it down and resulted in me not cooking and getting a takeaway for tea lol.   Im so happy to see Mallory and Catcher make a bigger appearance in this book, as they are amazing characters.  The more I read this series the more Merit reminds me of the female lead in another series. She has some of the same traits as Cat  from The Night Huntress series by Jeanene Frost. That's maybe why I loved her so much.

If someone was to ask me my view on if they should read this series or not, I would definitely say YES!!!!  this series is a must read . amazingly well written  you will not be disappointed.
