Review: This series is written by Lara Adrian, she is a very successful writer and I love the Midnight Breed series. In this book we meet Gabrielle Maxwell, she started her life off on hard times as her mother is attracted by a vampire and ends up in a mental hospital because no one believes her about the vampires. Gabrielle is then past from home to home not feeling she belongs any where. as she grows up, she lives her life as a photographer  and she doesn't really make any money from it till one day, she is in a club with her friends and on the way home she witnesses a brutal attack and takes pictures to take to the police.  This puts Gabrielle in great danger as it turns out all of Gabrielle's pictures are of Rogue vampire hideouts. Gabrielle gets help off a band of vampires called the Breed, who live there lives to protecting people by killing all Rogue vampires.  Wen Gabrielle meets Lucan the head of the breed she finally feels like she belongs somewhere.

Lucan is Gen-One and the leader of the Breed. he lives his life for protecting people, He is out hunting the Rogues and he crosses paths with Gabrielle Maxwell. He doesn't know what it is but he is drawn to her, and finds he cant stay away. he tries very hard to stay away from Gabrielle but it drives him crazy to think of the danger she is in. Lucan all so has to deal with the fact that he feels him self slipping into bloodlust and turning into the one thing he dreads, Rogue.

The pair have to work together and over come a lot so that they can be together, but Gabrielle proves that she is a very strong lady who could offer a lot to the Breed to help them fight the on coming war with the Rouges.

I have to say, this is the second time iv read this series and this isn't my favourite book in the series. but its not a book you can skip because it gives you a lot of information into the characters and the war with the Rogues.  This book is a bit slow in places but when you get the action it is really good. I'm so looking forward to reading the next book in the series because Dante the leading vamp is one of my favourites.

RATING 4 LIPS
