#1 New York Times bestselling author J. R. Ward's thrilling new novel in the Black Dagger Brotherhood series.

With so much working against them, can love prove stronger than the birthright and the biology that separates them?

Review:   In this book we get a closer look into Payne's life. After having a sparing session Payne looses the feeling in her legs and turns down help from the Virgin Scrib   (her mum). So she ends up in the human/vampire world with her brother Vishous. Vishous tries everything to help her gain control over her legs again and runs out of things to try, This is when he turns to the human world and a guy named Dr.Manello who was once a co-worker of Jane's his mate and the best surgeon around.  When Payne meets him her heart falls for him straight away and this corses her twin Vishous to freak out, which is another part of the story. As Manny (  Dr.Manello ) finds a way to   make Payne better he find himself falling for her big time but before to long he is sent back to the human world and Payne has to deal with his loss. We all so find out more about Paynes past and what she done for Vishous, this is one hell of a strong lady to take revenge for what happened to her brother all them years ago.

Manny ( Dr.Manello )  its all most been a who year since the death of his dear friend and co-worker (Jane) and Manny is still finding it hard to deal with. Then  out of know where Jane turns up and she is only half dead and she is needing help. Manny drops everything and goes to help Jane's patient (Payne) even when he is filled with anger over her not telling him she wasn't dead. But when he See's Payne lying there in her sick bed he forgets everything because his heart skips and beat because she is the most beautiful woman he has ever seen. Manny being the man and doc that he is does everything in his power to help Payne get the use of her legs again but the more he time he spend with her the more he falls for her. Manny See's this as a relationship that is never going to work even though he loves her to bits, and packs everything up and prepares to leave, but then he finds out that Payne goes missing and he goes mad tring to find her.

All so in this book we get a little bit more of a look at Vishous (my guy so hands off lady's) lol. In fact I think this book you got to read more about him then Payne. you would of thought it was his book  not hers. In fact his part in this book was so much better then Vishous's own book. which i am so pleased about because I was so let down by his book. I was so moved with the bit in this book when Butch took vishous back to the condoe to give him a work out with his whips and chains and Butch took  a different route and helped him overcome his past and what had happened with his father the blood letter. The bit where Butch and Vishous  were lying on the bed all most made me cry but then Butch asked when they had started dating, the bromance between these two has my heart doing little flips. This was Vishous part two and I loved it.

I really enjoyed this book but I'm gonna be truthful and say it wasn't really because of Panyne and Manny, I do love the pair but there just wasn't enough of them in this book. No I loved the book because of the Vishous/Jane and Butch scenes. I all so loved that there was  bits with the other characters we love, like Rhage and the popcorn.  Payne has worked her way up there to being one of my favourite females in this series becuase she can totally kick ass and she is so stubborn and can hold her own and wont back down when she wants something, that and the kick ass power she as going on.

This book is full of action/romance/bromance and there is even some really funny bits if you have never read this series id like to ask "why the hell not". go out and try it you will love it. and if this is a series you have read, you are going to love this book.

  1. I enjoyed this, loved Manny, but it wasn't as good as the others. This seemed to revolve more round V & Jane's drama than Payne & Manny's romance.
