INTERVIEW

Yay, its finally here. iv been so looking forward to this interview for a long time now. Today I'm going to be interviewing the one and only Felicity Heaton. I had so much fun doing this interview. I really think you guys will love it.

.Felicity Bio.

Felicity Heaton is a romance author writing as both Felicity Heaton and F E Heaton. She is passionate about penning paranormal tales full of vampires, witches, werewolves, angels and shape-shifters, and has been interested in all things preternatural and fantastical since she was just a child. Her other passion is science-fiction and she likes nothing more than to immerse herself in a whole new universe and the amazing species therein. She used to while away days at school and college dreaming of vampires, werewolves and witches, or being lost in space, and used to while away evenings watching movies about them or reading gothic horror stories, science-fiction and romances.
Having tried her hand at various romance genres, it was only natural for her to turn her focus back to the paranormal, fantasy and science-fiction worlds she enjoys so much. She loves to write seductive, sexy and strong vampires, werewolves, witches, angels and alien species. The worlds she often dreams up for them are vicious, dark and dangerous, reflecting aspects of the heroines and heroes, but her characters also love deeply, laugh, cry and feel every emotion as keenly as anyone does. She makes no excuses for the darkness surrounding them, especially the paranormal creatures, and says that this is their world. She’s just honoured to write down their adventures.
If you want to know more about me, or want to get in touch, you can find me at the following places:

INTERVIEW.

SATIN-  Can you tell me about yourself and let people know who you are and a little bit about your work...*smiles sweetly*

FELICITY- Sure. I’m a paranormal romance author, but I do write the occasional science fiction romance or fantasy romance story too. I’ve been writing since 2005, and was e-published back then, but I turned indie in 2006 and have been going it alone ever since. I write various stand alone and series as Felicity Heaton, and write my Vampires Realm series as F E Heaton. I have written over forty stories and around thirty of those are still available

SATIN -  I know loads of ladies that are reading your books and enjoying them, did you ever think your books would be as popular as they are, and is there any where in the world you would really like your books to do well?

FELICITY-  I honestly didn’t think that my writing would prove so popular. I write because I love it. I really can’t live without writing in my life anymore. I love crafting the plot and the characters, and then writing it and bringing it to life. It’s fantastic to see so many people picking up my books, and also seeing so many people so passionate about them. I can’t really think of anywhere I would love my books to sell more. They sell all over the world and it always amazes me when I’m talking to readers and they’re from Australia or Japan, or all over Europe. It’s fantastic.

SATIN- I love your paranormal romance books, but I know you have written books in different genres, so which genre do you like writing about best?

FELICITY- Paranormal romance. Without a doubt. I really loved writing science fiction romance though, and I’m sure I’ll write more of them in the future, but at the moment I’m hooked on writing paranormal romances. I’ve always loved everything paranormal like vampires, witches and werewolves, ever since I was really little, so it’s only natural that I want to write about them more than anything else. I would love to write more fantasy romances based in a world of my own creation, but it would be a labour of love as that genre isn’t as popular as paranormal romance set in our world.

SATIN- I know lots of my sexy ladies will want me to ask this next question. I know we have talked about it loads between us lol... who is your favourite book guy and why? And can I share?  *wiggles eye brows*

FELICITY- My ultimate hero that I’ve written is still Valentine from my Prophecy Trilogy in my Vampires Realm series. I love Valentine. There’s just something about him and I haven’t written a hero to knock him off the top spot yet. Aleksandr from my upcoming release Heart of Darkness came close and now has a tied second spot with Julian from Love Immortal, but lovely Valentine is still up there. He’s the perfect vampire to me. He’s a killer, and merciless, and can be cold, but he’s also fiercely loyal and very protective, and does everything he can to take care of Prophecy in the stories and keep her safe, even though she’s really powerful. He’s also quite romantic. It’s a dark love we share. Lol.

SATIN-  So can you tell something about what exciting things you have going on right now, what new books coming out and what new events going on

nd, and I have some other stories to polish up and some books on writing to read. I’m still really busy and need to find a better work-life balance, and I’ll be working on that over the next few weeks too as I’ve been overworking a lot recently. I’m really enjoying my tour with Her Guardian Angel and the Her Angel series, and I’m really looking forward to the release of Heart of Darkness, which is another vampire romance, and will be the sixth novel I’ve released this year.

SATIN-  OK a totally random question for you because I’m a totally random person... if you could have dinner with anybody, whether they’re dead or alive who would it be   and where would you go with them and why?

FELICITY- Can I choose a character from one of my books? Although, if I did that it would be a tricky choice. There are so many of my heroes who I would love to have dinner with. If it had to be a real life person, I would probably have dinner with someone like Charlotte Bronte or Mary Shelley, or perhaps Bram Stoker. I’d love to be able to sit with them and ask whether they had realised when writing their incredible stories that they would live on for so many years through them and how popular they would be.

SATIN- Do you have any advice for people out there trying to make it as a writer?

FELICITY- I always advise new authors to spend a lot of time reading books on writing and honing their craft before taking the leap with a book. The first books we write often look amazing to us because we’re really excited about them, but five years down the line when you’ve learned more about writing and you’ve written more stories, you realise how terrible they really were. Writing is a learning process. You have to write a few books that you discard before you learn enough about the craft to actually write something good enough to publish. I know it’s tempting as a new author to just write a book and put it out there, but you’re not doing yourself any favours in the long term. Each book is important in building your life as an author, so if you put out rushed work that isn’t really ready for sale, then you’re harming that career before you’ve even got it off the ground and alienating potential readers with a poor product. I think it’s very important that authors read books about writing and put things they’ve learned in those books into practice, and that they take their time and don’t rush into things.

SATIN-  Do you have any last words for your fans out there?
FELICITY- Only that I hope they continue to enjoy my stories or perhaps take a chance on me as a new author to them and pick up a copy of one of my novels. As long as people keep reading, I’ll keep writing. I have plenty of stories to come! Also, if readers would like to follow me on my Paranormal Pandemonium 2011 Blog Tour so they can learn more about my Her Angel series and participate in the giveaways, they can find out my tour dates at my website: http://www.felicityheaton.co.uk/paranormal-pandemonium-blog-tour.php
