Date Published: May 26th 2011
Description: When literature student Anastasia Steele is drafted to interview the successful young entrepreneur Christian Grey for her campus magazine, she finds him attractive, enigmatic and intimidating. Convinced their meeting went badly, she tries to put Grey out of her mind - until he happens to turn up at the out-of-town hardware store where she works part-time.
The unworldly, innocent Ana is shocked to realize she wants this man, and when he warns her to keep her distance it only makes her more desperate to get close to him. Unable to resist Ana’s quiet beauty, wit, and independent spirit, Grey admits he wants her - but on his own terms.
Shocked yet thrilled by Grey's singular erotic tastes, Ana hesitates. For all the trappings of success – his multinational businesses, his vast wealth, his loving adoptive family – Grey is a man tormented by demons and consumed by the need to control. When the couple embarks on a passionate, physical and daring affair, Ana learns more about her own dark desires, as well as the Christian Grey hidden away from public scrutiny.
Can their relationship transcend physical passion? Will Ana find it in herself to submit to the self-indulgent Master? And if she does, will she still love what she finds?
Erotic, amusing, and deeply moving, the Fifty Shades Trilogy is a tale that will obsess you, possess you, and stay with you forever
Reveiw: In this book we meet Ana, she in her build up to her exams and she doesn't need any distractions but she is drafted to do an interview for her friend and the news paper and her plans go out the window.. she turns up at the interview expecting an old man but this isnt what she gets. she gets a young hot control freak who turns her life up side down.
Ana is a virgin and struggles to deal with the feeling she has for Mr Grey. but it turns out its not just Ana struggling with her feelings.
As the characters go I really liked Ana and I felt for her when you found out she was still a virgin and had these big feelings for Grey, but I'm pleased that when Grey and Ana finally got round to having sex he really looked after her. I all so felt sorry for her when she had to make the big choice of weather or not she was gonna sign the contract. I was kinda mad at Grey at this point for putting someone who had just had sex for the first time through this. he should of understood that it was a big thing for someone in her state. Grey was one of them characters i just wanted to smack around the head and say come on get real and go talk to someone. you need help.
I'm really not to sure about this book. after hearing so many people rant and rave about it I had to get my hands on it. but now I have I have to say I was really disappointed in it. it really wasn't what I was expecting. I really don't like stating my point of view when its not a good one but I just felt really let down, there was far to much build up to this book and I really was let down. I didn't find it an easy read at all and found it hard to stay focused on it. I normally like books based round BDSM as long as there is a good story to go with it but this didn't float my boat. I will add the sex scenes were the only well written bits in the book.
I wont say don't try this book because I all ways stress that not everyone is the same and not everyone likes the same things. but if you do read it them please pop by and let me and my followers know what you think.
RATING OF 2 LIPS.
I liked the concept of the story but I felt like the writing was very green. I don't mean just grammar issues either but the actual writing. I liked reading about Christian and getting behind why he is the way that he is but I didn't feel like the sex scenes were too explicit or that the tiny bit of bdsm that was in the story was too much. Maybe it's because I've read better, but I just don't see what all the hype is about whether it's good or bad. It has potential but it needs to be put through the wringer first and rewritten a bit to make it great.

ReplyDeleteThis book has given a bad view of erotic romance. It was sorta terrible. And I don't think it was hot at all.
