REVIEW: PATRICIA BRIGGS -DEAD HEAT (ALPAH AND OMEGA #4)

18941694

For once, mated werewolves Charles and Anna are not travelling because of Charles’s role as his father’s enforcer. This time, their trip to Arizona is purely personal, as Charles plans to buy Anna a horse for her birthday. Or at least it starts out that way...

Charles and Anna soon discover that a dangerous Fae being is on the loose, replacing human children with simulacrums. The Fae’s cold war with humanity is about to heat up—and Charles and Anna are in the cross fire.

Review:
This book starts with Anna an Charles taking a little trip. mixing business with pleasure when they go to buy a horse off one of Charles old friend.  there is mixed feeling on this trip when Anna gets to meet a very old friend of Charles and the sad news that he is dying . we see a totally new side of Charles which I loved and we got to delve into his past a little more and find out more about what makes him tick.

as normal in these books things take a turn for the worse when the a member of the local Alphas pack gets a spell put on her and she is compelled to kill her children and her self. but what the fae dont know is the member of the pack has witch blood and manages to find a way to stop herself from killing them at a great risk to her self.

Charles and Anna take on the  case to try and get to the bottom of it and we see them take on a fae who likes to collect children and o unspeakable things to them.

There is a very emotional scene at the end  of the book that broke my heart  and  I was preying things would work out a little differently for Charles and his friend.

Im a bit torn about this book. I loved some of it then I found bits were dragged out to much and they were a little slow.  It just took longer then normal to get to the action part which I love. There was to much horse talk for my liking.A part from that I loved the book. I loved the mystery  and the emotional side of this book.  I loved looking back into Charles's life and finding out why he is so closed off to the world. I loved the search for the Fea, I think this part of the book was really well written but I have to admit I had the baddie figured out from early on in the book. if you are reading this series this book is a must read because you get a deep understanding about Charles.  I really cant wait for the next book to come out.

RATING 4 LIPS.
